For months now, Foo Fighters’ frontman, Dave Grohl, has been talking about his band’s newest project and it has been generating a lot of buzz in rock music. On Monday, the Foo Fighters announced on their website that their newest album Sonic Highways will be released on November 10.
The new album was recorded in eight different cities; Austin, Chicago, L.A., Seattle, Washington D.C., Nashville, New York, and New Orleans. It features eight songs each recorded in a different city and with a different local music legend. Guests on the new album include Buddy Guy, and Eagles legend Joe Walsh. This is their tribute to all of the greats that have been before them, truly a “love letter to American Music.”
The band also will be releasing a documentary series by the same name about the process of making the album. The series will premiere October 17th at 11 pm on HBO. As of now, no shows in the Northwest have been announced, but we can all hope they will be rocking stages near us shortly.
The Foo Fighters last album Wasting Light was released in 2011, so it is definitely a long wait finally becoming worth while.
